Upon arrival, please submit a negative Covid test to the information desk not older than 24 hours. You can find two test centers in Harlesiel: one of them (the test center at Restaurant Wattkieker, Am Harlesiel 20, 26409 Wittmund) is about a 5-minute walk from the campsite. There you can test for free and without prior registration. A new test must be taken every 72 hours and presented at the campsite information desk. Otherwise, the usual distance and hygiene rules on the campsite apply.
Check-in is possible from 3 p.m. on the day of arrival. Please register for check-in at the campsite information (opening times until 5.30 p.m., if you arrive later, please catch up the next day). You open the door by entering the six-digit code that you received from us in advance by email.
Check-out is possible on the day of departure by 11.00 a.m. at the latest. Before you leave, please dispose of your rubbish in the rubbish bins you see in front of the main campsite building and, if possible, clear the table and chairs in the lodge. Then close the door (it does not have to be locked) and have a safe journey home.
The free car park is right next to the campsite, just a few meters from the camp.
At the campsite information (large building at the barrier), you can get the tourism card (2.50 euros per adult/day) and a WiFi code. Furthermore, there are additional costs for using the campsite of 4.50 euros per adult (from 4-16 years) and 3.00 euros per child (4 - 15 years) per day in the high season (11.04. to 24.04. and 26.05. to 28.08 .) and 3.60 euros per adult (from 4-16 years) and 1.50 euros per child (4-15 years) per day in the low season (25/04 to 25/05 and 29/08 to 25/09).
WIRELESS INTERNET ACCESS
Yes, there is free public WiFi. You can pick up the access code at reception.
The sanitary facilities (separate showers, sinks, separate toilets) are located right next to the lodge camp and are free to use. Currently, there may be restrictions or waiting times due to the distance rules. We ask for your understanding. All other facilities of the campsite can be used as well.
Our outdoor kitchen is equipped with essential things. You will find a microwave, a hob, a grill, a mini-oven, and a basic set of dishes. Since the kitchen is for communal use, we ask that you show consideration for other guests and observe the following rules: - Make arrangements with other guests - To rinse the dishes, you can use the campsite's washing facilities - Please put the dishes back in the kitchen after use and do not leave them in the lodge so that other guests can use them as well - If something broke, please send us a short message to email@example.com - Wherever you can find food in nature, there are living beings (especially seagulls, wild hares) that would like to steal part of it. Please be careful not to leave any food lying around or to drop it on the floor.
BED SHEETS TOWELS
The beds in our lodges will be freshly done when you arrive. We don't have towels.
ELECTRICITY / HEATING
Since electricity is limited on the campsite, we ask you to only use the heating on the lowest level. This way, the lodge is adequately heated, and you avoid a power failure. In rare cases, power outages can occur. Here is a little guide for quick self-help: Please check first whether the security of your lodge has been released. There are two safety switches at the top left above the bed. Both switches have to look towards the window. A relay might be ripped out, and you can flip the switch again without risk. If the power still does not work, it is due to the fuse on the power distributor. Please consult the caretaker of the campsite.
We use a smart lock from Nuki. You can open it with a numeric code (entered via the keypad to the left of the door) or key. If you have any problems, you can get a spare key at the campsite reception or call +49 30 629 305 34.
HOOK THE DOOR WITH ROPE
With the rope at the bottom right of your lodge you can hook the door handle so that the wind doesn't keep slamming the door. Hammocks We have set up hammocks in the camp that are for communal use. Relax and enjoy! You don't have to wake up early in the morning to cover the hammocks with your towel.
TERRACE WITH CHAIR AND TABLE
At times it can get very stormy at the North Sea. Because of the strong wind and the campsite is only partially guarded, we kindly ask you to put a folding table and chair under the right bed in the evening and after checkout in the lodge. Thank you very much!
Harlesiel is a good starting point to explore East Frisia or the islands of Wangerooge. The place itself also has something extraordinary to offer: Harlesiel is home to a few seawater outdoor pools. Here water fans can have fun in the heated pool when the sea is taking a break (low tide). The pool is equipped with a swimmer and toddler area and a 1-meter and 3-meter diving platform. Visitors pay 2.50€ for adults and 1.25€ for kids.
EXCURSION DESTINATIONS CAROLINENSIEL
From the neighboring town of Carolinensiel you can paddle steamer along the promenade (and the floating houses) to Harlesiel. The museum harbor in the center of Carolinensiel is historical proof that Caroliniensiel was once an important trading port in the 18th and 19th centuries and was located directly on the sea. In the mudflat hiking center Ostfriesland you can buy guided tours through the mudflats and regional products or outdoor equipment. The German Sielhafenmuseum is the ideal plan B for hazy days: with the old rectory (shipbuilding and handicrafts), the captain's house (life on land), the Groot Hus (land and sea), and the historic rescue station at the Friedrichsschleuse (rescue service at sea) the excursion is a discovery tour for the whole family. If you are in the mood for wellness, you can relax in the Cliner Quelle. The brine and adventure pool offers fitness and cosmetics as well as a sauna area. Anyone who finally wants to put their New Year's resolution for a healthier lifestyle into practice can lay the base with the help of the nutrition and health advice offered there.
